Guatemala Team Update #7

Today was not quite as early, which our team appreciated especially since we didn’t get back to the hotel until 10:30 last night.

We had breakfast together and then team devotions with Pastor John reading John 3:30.

“He must increase, but I must decrease.””

‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭30‬ ‭

This is a verse that takes a lifetime to apply and is never mastered.  We were reminded that as we start to head back to the states and share the amazing stories we have to share- we need to be increasing the Lord and decreasing ourselves.

Our plans for the day quickly were changed, as normal missions trips schedules go.  But we went with the flow and let it be.  We visited with Pastor Jamie from Iglesia Bautista Maranatha Church. We broke up into 3 groups to do home visits. We were able to hear of many different family situations, prayer requests, and see true Guatemalan living.

After home visits, we ate a delicious lunch at San Martin with Pastor Jamie and his daughter. It was a great time of fellowship for the whole team.

We then loaded the vans to make the trek back to Guatemala City to stay the night closer to the airport in preparation for our flight home tomorrow.  We planned for 3 hours on the road- but we know that is Guatemalan time.  Let’s just say we all got very antsy and pretty silly as we sat and sat and sat in traffic.  Our 3 hour tour ended up being close to 7 hours.

We are exhausted, but we are still soaking in the final moments of all being together.  Pray we can find rest tonight before another long day of traveling.
