Day 4- Monday, June 9th- VBS & Home Visits -Pastor Jamie
Pastor Lane led us in team devotion this morning, Hebrews 13:1-2
We were challenged:
1- To remember love and hospitality is a vehicle that helps us carry the gospel to strangers and shows them we care.
2- Showing love and hospitality as a means of grace to those that the Lord is drawing to himself.
Our Ministries Today
The VBS Team
The VBS team, led by Zack, went to an elementary school and interacted with approx. 200 students. The Bible Station, Craft Station, and Game Station were all built around Luke 5:24- Jesus heals a paralytic.
A focus on love
The RFBC youth started VBS by opening up with 2 upbeat Spanish songs about Jesus. In closing, the gospel was shared, by our RFBC youth. The local pastor, Jamie, that we partnered with followed up by inviting the kids to come to his church to continue the learning about Jesus.
Our Home Visit Team
A focus on hospitality
Several adult team members partnered with Guatemalan translators to enter local homes. The team ministered to all ages, leaving behind a bag of food for the household. The elders received an extra gift bag of candies in addition to the food bag.
Praise the Lord!!!
2 adults were SAVED today during a home visit. Connect with Katie Bjorklund or Pastor Lane, upon our return; they will share the divine appointment.
After Ministry
Upon our return to our hotel, we had a team meeting, Lane asked the individual team members for one word that described their first ministry day:
Beautiful
Joyful
Faithful
Blessed
Hands On
Gardening
Trusting
Touched
Exciting
Please pray:
Several team members were not able to go out today; they were ill. Please pray for healing of their bodies.
Pray for the health of all team members and we would not get sick.
VBS is expecting 300 students tomorrow; pray our team will be flexible and remaining in unity.
Home visits will continue to share Jesus and to provide food bags. Pray the gospel will be shared and individuals will respond. Strengthen our team members as they go out into the homes and help them show the Guatemalans how much we care.
Please pray for our drivers and our travel. We have 2+ hour drive to and from our ministry place. The roads and the traffic are challenging.
Thank You
Thank you church family for sending and praying for us as we are on mission with the Lord, as he called us to go.
