This week, Pastor John focuses on Malachi 1:1–5; we see that God declares His love for His people so that they would turn from sin and worship Him forever. God’s love is first declared through His Word, which always accomplishes His purpose and is demonstrated most clearly in Christ’s death for sinners. His love is then defended, as God’s sovereign choice and purpose reveal that His love is not based on circumstance or human merit but on His divine grace. Finally, His love is displayed in His faithfulness to gather, redeem, and restore His people, even when they stray. In response, believers are called to recognize God’s covenant love, take His Word seriously, and reflect His love by hating sin and pursuing truth.
