50th Anniversary

50th Anniversary Celebration

On October 29th, the last Sunday of this month, Rainbow Forest will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary.  A small group of believers met 50 years ago in the recreational hall across the street next to the Rainbow Forest Lake to plant a new church in this community.  I doubt if any of them ever dreamed of how the Lord would bless their vision, sacrifice and service to the extent that today RFBC is a church that is known all around the world for its faith and ministry.  We love to say that today RFBC is a church that has a local touch with a global reach.

Our theme for the day is Connecting the Past, Present and Future.  We will be highlighting the wonderful legacy of yesteryear through video and memorabilia and special guests such as Evangelist Rick Via, Pastor Ken Butterworth, Alan Bays, Jonathan Geukgeuzian, and Jody Miller along with their wives and others that invested their gifts and talents to make this church so special.

We will also take time to recognize our present ministries that continue to touch our local community through partnerships in planting new churches, serving alongside Straight Street, and other various outreach efforts.  We will also rejoice in our global partnerships like GPPD that give our membership opportunity and access to go all over the world.

Pastor Mike will  be bringing a message from Mark 4&5 on “The Other Side” speaking about how we believe the Lord wants us to connect to the future as we review and renew our vision for these critical and confusing times in which we live.

We will be having two identical services at 8:15 and at 10:45.  In between these services, our Family Life Center will be set up for a time of refreshment and fellowship to renew old acquaintances and build new relationships.  Also, there will displays for memorabilia and pictures from the past and present partnerships we have with various local and foreign ministries.

The choir, orchestra, band and praise teams are planning great special music for the day.   I really hope and pray that you will make plans to spend the morning with us, most of all to celebrate and worship the Lord Jesus Christ and all the great things He has done and is doing and will continue to do!!!!  I’m sure it will be a celebration to remember!
