Our families are a precious gift from the Lord. Such a precious gift requires us to be good stewards. This passage is clear evidence that God’s primary plan for the discipleship of children is the family. One of the things that I love about this passage is that discipleship is described as happening in the natural rhythms of the family. We are told to teach truth to one another “as we walk together,” “get ready for bed,” “decorate our home,” and “when kids ask questions.” As you pray and fast today, spend some time thinking about how God may be asking you to contribute to the spiritual growth of your home.
Other verses: 2 Timothy 1:1-7; 1 Samuel 1
Pray today for the families of RFBC. Pray for parents and grandparents to use the natural rhythms of their family life to teach their children and grandchildren the truth about God.
