As Christians, we are not promised lives of ease. Often it takes just a small moment of beauty to regain hope and continue on when life is chaotic and unpredictable. Only when we learn to spot the lovely in the midst of hardship can we experience the transcendent peace of God that keeps us persevering when we want to give up.
In this 7-session Bible study, Annie F. Downs examines the ordinary people of the Bible—fishermen, gardeners, women, soldiers—to reveal the moments they found beauty in the darkest circumstances and hope in God’s timing. Because they trusted in this: He makes everything beautiful in His time. The study begins Wednesday, February 14th, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Study book is $13, check made payable to RFBC.

Dear Church Member and Friend,
This morning, I’m up in Chicago area where I attended the graduation of Andrey Kravtsev, my Russian friend and our RFBC missions partner in ministry for reaching the unreached people groups of the North Caucuses for the Lord. Last night, Andrey graduated from Trinity Divinity Seminary with a Doctor of Philosophy in Cross Cultural Studies. We are very proud of him.
This note is to inform you of a phone call I just received this morning from Dr. Willmington’s assistant. She informed me that Dr. Willmington is quite sick and will not be able to attend and be our guest speaker tomorrow, December 17th at Rainbow. He definitely still wants to come at a later date! I’m so sorry, first, that he is sick, but secondly that we will miss hearing him share with us tomorrow. Please be in prayer for Dr. Willmington and his health.
I will be returning to Roanoke airport this afternoon and will plan on speaking tomorrow myself. Thanks so much for understanding and more importantly, your prayers.

Finding I AM by Lysa TerKeurst (combined with a survey of the Gospel of John)
Our eleven week Bible study will feature Lysa TerKeurst’s exploration of the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. We will alternate weeks of doing her study with weeks of filling in the chapters of John that are not covered by Lysa, so that you will have a good understanding of the sweep of John’s message by the end as well as a better understanding of how Jesus’ words 2,000 years ago are so very applicable to the answers we are searching for today.

Wednesday Night Women's Bible Study
All Things New, by Kelly Minter (an 8 week study on 2 Corinthians)
The city of ancient Corinth was much like our own modern-day cities: a melting pot of electrifying cultural experiences to be had, along with the myriad pitfalls of spiritual depravity. Still, Paul wrote to the Church of God in Corinth - meaning God's Church is meant to thrive in any city and every circumstance in which we find ourselves. Paul's letter is as timely as ever.
Over 8 sessions, Kelly Minter will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by: Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come.
Begins Wednesday, September 13, ends November 1st
6:30 pm, ADC 202
$13 for study guide
