Ways to Give

3 WAYS MONEY IS GIVEN TO MISSIONS AT RAINBOW FOREST

1. FAITH PROMISE MISSIONS GIVING – This is the most important and exciting way that money is given to missions. Each year we ask that all of our church members pray about, and commit by faith to give a specific weekly amount above their church tithe to missions. Members give to faith promise by marking their church offering envelopes in the section designated “Mission Fund”. Every penny that is given to Faith Promise Missions goes directly to missionaries who are serving faithfully here in the Roanoke Valley or on the foreign field. We encourage every member to be a part of this type of giving. No funds are used for administrative purposes.

2. RFBC MISSIONS TITHE – About 10 years ago, the church voted to give 10% of the weekly “General Fund” giving (tithe that our church members give) should automatically be transferred to missions. Our church tithes on the tithes that are received. Example: If you tithe $60 on a weekly basis, then $6 automatically goes to mission work. This does not mean that you should not give to Faith Promise Missions. A tithe is 10% of our gross income (before taxes are taken out). 10% should be just the beginning of our giving to the Lord’s work. Remember, it all belongs to God, we are just giving back to him a portion of what He has entrusted to our care. Money from the Missions Tithe is used for providing Missions Education at Rainbow, supporting Mission Works that take the gospel around the world and Administration.

3. DESIGNATED GIVING – This is when a Rainbow Forest member or someone outside of our church body designates a certain amount of money for a specific purpose, such as giving funds to support someone to go on a mission work. We strongly encourage our members to give to missions through Faith Promise Giving, but sometimes we know God puts it on the hearts of His people to give a special gift to a specific mission work. Designated gifts are used for mission works that are outside the missions budget or to allow expanded ministry in a budgeted work.
