The Funny Side of Parenting
A school teacher was helping one of her kindergarten students put on his snow boots. Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots didn't want to go on. After getting the second boot on, the little boy said, "They're on the wrong feet."

She looked, and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on but she managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots on the right feet.

He then announced, "These aren't my boots." She bit her tongue rather than scream, "Why didn't you say so?" Once again, she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.
No sooner had they gotten the boots off when he said, "They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear 'em." Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. She mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again.
Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now, where are your mittens?" He said, "I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots."

Teaching Kids about Family Life
God designed the family to be a place for children to learn and grow. Actually treasures are waiting to be discovered by kids through their interactions with parents. For example, if kids can learn to follow instructions at home they'll learn the secrets of being more effective in a job someday. These treasures are taught to children through an activity-based curriculum called The Treasure Hunters. It's great for the classroom or for the home. Parenting Insight You Can Use Now

One of our presenters recently taught a Parenting is Heart Work Seminar and one of the parents told this story:

"My daughter could never get her room cleaned no matter how many times I sent her there. When I broke down the instructions like you taught and had her return after each part, my daughter said, "Mom, you know the way you are sending me to do a job and I come back to you when I'm done? I like that! It helps me! I haven't been able to clean my room before, but now I can!"
