A LETTER FROM THE MISSIONS LEADERSHIP TEAM

Dear Church Member,
God is at work around the world and right here in the Roanoke Valley. He has given us the wonderful privilege of partnering with Him in the work of expanding His kingdom. One of the best ways to partner with God in the evangelization of the world is through Faith Promise Missions. This website will help you better understand what Faith Promise Missions is and how the missions ministry functions at Rainbow Forest. We have tried to answer the most common questions our members have about the missions ministry. It is our prayer that as you look over the website, you will have a greater passion for missions and will join us in supporting Faith Promise Missions.

Many in our church family do not fully understand the concept of Faith Promise Missions giving and more than half of our church members do not participate in it. It is our desire that every member would actively support Faith Promise Missions. We are not just trying to increase our missions budget, but to include everyone in the expansion of the Kingdom of God. We all understand that it takes money to do this. The more we understand what our Faith Promise Missions money does, the more we will joyfully partner with God through giving.

There is no doubt that missions is the heartbeat of God. From Genesis to Revelation we read about God’s redemptive plan: to bring all nations to a saving knowledge of the One True God. If we truly love God and desire to please Him, then we will be a part of Faith Promise Missions. If you are not a part of Faith Promise Missions, you are missing out on the blessings of God here on earth and the eternal rewards in heaven.

1) 100% participation from every church member
2) Everyone increase/start their Faith Promise giving by $5/week ($260/yr)
3) $160,000 for Faith Promise Missions this budget year
Please pray that we reach these goals. I know that it will please our heavenly Father and will help expand the kingdom of God in the world in which we live. Please pray about your part. Remember we are the “body of Christ” and every part of the body must work together to function as a complete body. We as a Missions Leadership Team are praying for you!

MISSIONS LEADERSHIP TEAM
The Missions Leadership Team is a group of men and women who are committed to seeing the kingdom of God being expanded right here in the Roanoke Valley all the way to the ends of the earth. It is made up of church members and some of the pastoral staff. The team does not vote on agenda items, but prayerfully considers how God would have us to spend the money that He has entrusted to our care. The team meets on a monthly basis to pray, discuss missions support, mission works, and missions education at Rainbow (i.e. Missions Conferences, Missions Institute, Missions Station).
The Missions Leadership Team would appreciate your prayers as we earnestly seek God for wisdom, guidance and leadership in the Missions Ministry of Rainbow Forest.
Since this redemptive work is the very heart of God, what purpose does He have for Christ’s body, the church? Jesus told His followers to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) Just as the Father sent Jesus into the world, Jesus sends His followers into the world.
