Getting Involved

There is no doubt that God intends for every Christian to be involved in the work of the church. The church is not meant to be a grandstand with everyone on the sidelines watching a few “star” players perform. We are all meant to be “on the field” and “in on the action” of loving, caring, serving, helping, and encouraging! At Rainbow there are many steps that you can take to become involved.

Step One: Sunday Morning Worship

Join us in person this Sunday morning. Come see for yourself why Rainbow is an exciting place to worship. Stop by our Information Center, just inside our main entrance, and let us introduce ourselves. We will make sure a friendly face is there to show you around and make you feel comfortable. If you will do that much, I think you will like what you see.

Step Two: Pray

Pray about where the Lord wants you to be involved. It may be in our church or it may be in another church that teaches and preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ. Praying will guide you in making the right decision.

Step Three: Invest Yourself

Getting involved at Rainbow encompasses much more than signing up. Our goal is to grow a church body that glorifies and God and builds the Kingdom, not to simply grow a church roster.

The next step for getting involved is to truly invest yourself in the work here. Any investment assumes some level of risk. A basic principle of investing is “low risk…low reward”. If you are not willing to risk anything, then you’re truly not willing to invest anything.

To truly become a part of the Body, you must be willing to invest your life into the lives of other people, to take a risk and build new relationships, to seek out opportunities to build community.

Two great ways to begin investing in the work here are:

Join a Small Group

There is no substitute for closely knit group of believers who walk through the peaks and valleys of life together, all the while leaning on the truth of God’s Word and each other for support. There are many small groups that meet both at the church and at homes throughout the week.

Discipleship

If you have never been discipled one-on-one by another believer, it is a must in your Christian life. There is nothing more rewarding than to be taken through the basic steps of what it means to be a Christian by another believer. While being discipled, you will have fellowship, accountability, and you will grow in the Lord.

Step Five: Find Your Place of Service

In order for a body to be healthy, all the parts of the body must perform the purpose for which they were created. The church is no different. If Rainbow is to be God-honoring and world-changing church that He has called us to be, then all the parts of this body must be actively doing what God has gifted them to do. Find a place of service within the church that you can pursue with passion, that utilizes your unique spiritual gifts, and that God has created you to do.
