Words can never begin to express the wonderful experience that the Haiti Family Missions Team had this past week.
As I said this last Sunday, this trip and its success was only possible because of the great support by all our members and by your prayers. Every day we watched the Lord work not only in the lives of the people we were ministering to, but in the lives of our team members.
I love Psalm 143. As a team, we truly enjoyed the blessings of this prayer:
8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
9 Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies;
In You I take shelter.
10 Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness.
11 Revive me, O Lord, for Your name's sake!
For Your righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
Every day our hard working Medical team, lead by Dr. Kurt Hubach, went to a different location and touched precious people both physically and spiritually. Over 600 patients were ministered to. For two days, our Pastor's Conference team ministered to over 200 pastors, leaders and many of their wives. The VBS Team, lead by Pastor Lane, held numerous VBS programs, with over 800 children in attendance. These children were also fed each day and given special gifts. Our Construction Team, led by Brian Fritts, did a phenomenal job with the materials and tools they had available and were a great blessing to the school run by Sherrie and her staff. We all worked together on several occasions to pass out hundreds of pounds of rice and beans to some very hungry people.
There were literally hundreds of professions of faith in Christ, but most of all, the Lord Jesus Christ was lifted up and glorified with a team of unified believers sharing His great love with the poor and needy every day!!!!
Each day as I watched the different teams serve each other, serve the Haitians, and serve the Lord with compassionate hearts, my heart was really touched. Every member of Rainbow should be so proud of your church that honored the Lord in such a beautiful way in every aspect of this great missions endeavor. Every day we experienced answered prayers and watched the Lord's hand work in miraculous ways, protecting, providing, healing and guiding us. Praise the Lord!!!!!!!
What a joy to continue to hear exciting testimonies from many as they are participating in our B90X Challenge this summer. In just two and half weeks, we have already read the entire Pentateuch, Job, Joshua, Judges, Ruth and some of 1 Samuel. God's Word is so exciting and alive!!!! Keep up the great work and don't be discouraged or quit because you get a little behind.
This past Saturday night, June 27th, & Sunday morning the 28th, we once again had
All Night Bible Reading and Prayer. Along with all night continuous prayer, we read the entire Bible through from Genesis to Revelation. Over 300 members and friends were a part of this exciting and impacting time. Thank you!!!!!! Our next Night of All Night Bible Reading and Pprayer will be August 1st & 2nd. Please mark your calendar.
Upcoming Events
Yesterday I received a phone call from Charles Billingsley confirming that he will be able to come and do a special night of praise and worship on Sunday evening, August 30th. He has asked that our choir participate with him, so this would be a great time for you to join the choir and be a part of a great worship experience!!!
We will be having a special Sunday night missions emphases on July 28th. Brian, Tami and Moriah Olling, our missionaries to Korea, will be sharing, along with testimonies from many who went on the Haiti missions trip. Others, who have also participated in short term missions this summer, will be telling how the Lord worked in other parts of the world.
Patriotic Celebration
On July 12th, we will be celebrating America's great heritage with special Patriotic services. The choir will be providing special music, and I'll be bringing a message reminding us of the "Faith of our Fathers". We are inviting military families who have members serving overseas. We are giving them special recognition along with special gifts. We will also have a Marine Color Guard Unit.
Following the services, we will be having our annual church picnic featuring Larry Wilkerson's "famous barbecue". For the children, we will have Dave's Moon's Walk inflatables. It should be a great family day!!!! Begin inviting as many friends and family as possible and start thinking of your favorite dish to share with others.
Also, to honor and encourage our Military serving overseas, we are participating as a church, in a special project with Lifeway. We have received 8 boxes of Bibles with the colors of the four divisions of our armed forces - Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force. You can purchase one of these Bibles for $5, write a personal note in it, and return it to us. It will be sent to one of our US soldiers overseas. Please help us with this!!!!
We're looking forward to a great summer as the Lord continues to lead and bless.
God bless,
Pastor Mike
